Barbie Doll Projects, 2004-2010
In 2004 the artist began reconstructing a select group of vintage Barbie dolls for photography and video animation. The dolls’ bodies and facial features were altered for frame by frame animation and to appear “anatomically correct.” A series of digital photographs and two digital films were produced, Nightmare, 2009 and To Hell and Back, 2010.
